Can't we just inform each other?

Nobody's telling us what's happening around here unless you find some corporate website that tracks you and tries to make you pay just to find out what's going on outside your door. What a drag. Can't we just inform each other, and have fun building and being in community?

The leaves are changing

The leaves are changing and falling, and the streets are graced with people from all walks of life. The days are growing shorter, and fall will give way to snow in a few weeks. Before we know it Santa will be at the cabin in Bancroft Park and the Christkindlmarket will be back.

Divide anything but our bread

I want people to see and hear themselves in our work. I want the people in this community to remember that we're in this together and that what we print is made to remind us of that. We are not here to divide anything but our bread for others, to love our neighbors, and practice mercy and kindness.

What it's all for

I get nervous that people's fear clouds not only their judgment but their hearts. I can be a skeptic, and quite cynical at times. I wonder what it's all for and why I'm doing this. But in the end, if one person reads our words and connects with them even a little, and it gives them a spark or the belief that they are loved, I will have done my work.

We choose this

I hope people are excited to see what we're up to. I hope they want to be a part of it, and that by gathering and presenting our values, beliefs and customs together, we can cherish them and let new things in while the old fades. I want Thursday to remind us that we choose this.
