There are no seed strips yet. This is the plan, written down before the first one so nobody has to guess.
Some copies of the zine will carry a small sealed strip of seed paper. Plant it in your own yard, a friend's yard with their yes, a community garden, or a school bed with the principal's okay. Not in a park, not in open space, not in Red Rock Canyon, Section 16, the Garden of the Gods or Bear Creek, not along the creek or a trail, and never after a fire. Those places get seeded by the people who manage them, with seed matched to the ground, and a stranger's strip does more harm than good there.
What's in it: Colorado natives from a Colorado grower (Western Native Seed, in Coaldale): Lewis blue flax, Rocky Mountain penstemon, blanketflower, prairie coneflower. Nothing from the state's noxious weed list, which is where the cheap "wildflower mixes" go wrong. Plant in fall; the penstemon wants a winter in the ground.
Plant it, take a picture when something comes up, send it in. The best ones run in the paper with your name on them.
